Conclusion of the administrative proceedings conducted by the State Monopolies Authority (Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato) concerning the compliance certificate of the “Barcrest” gaming platform
Porcari, 1 October 2012 - SNAI S.p.A. (“SNAI”) announces that the State Monopolies Authority (Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli di Stato or “AAMS”) notified the company of the issuance of a ruling revoking the compliance certificate of the gaming platform known as “Barcrest” (the “Barcrest Platform”), which was involved in the episode which occurred on 16 April 2012 (see the press release issued on 18 April 2012 and the press release issued on 4 June 2012).
Said ruling imposes a prohibition on the use of the Barcrest Platform, which was already disactivated by SNAI on 16 April 2012, in accordance with AAMS’ indications, for the collection of lawful gaming wagers through gaming machines, subject to possible new determinations by the competent authorities. SNAI will assess the appropriate initiatives to be taken in connection with the ruling issued by AAMS. Following the disactivation of the Barcrest Platform, SNAI promptly took actions to mitigate any inconvenience that may have been caused by such disactivation.
The separate administrative proceedings initiated by AAMS for the revocation of the concession for the collection of gaming wagers through gaming machines has not yet been concluded as of the date of this press release.
